2 ¼ cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar, or sucanat
2 eggs
¼ cup soft butter
16 ounce can fruit cocktail, undrained, or 2 cups fresh fruit
½ cup chocolate chips
½ cup chopped nuts, optional
Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and nuts in a large bowl.
Blend well at low speed. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9×13 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
