This is my mom’s cookie recipe. I’m not biased; these are yummy! When I was little, she would have these made and in the cookie jar before my brother got home from school. As soon as he was in the house, she’d put a couple cookies on a napkin, and I’d sit my little legs up to the dining room table. Mmmm… These cookies taste like home.
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups oatmeal
- 1/2 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all ingredients.
Shape cookies into little balls using a spoon. Roll each cookie ball in sugar before baking.
Place cookie balls on cookie sheet, with a little space between each one so they can spread as they bake. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Try not to eat them all in one sitting.
