The celery seed makes the difference in this simple comfort food.
2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon celery seed
2 teaspoons sea salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper
2 cans (15 oz.) diced tomatoes
2 cans (6 oz.) tomato paste
1 1/2 cups water
1 (1 lb.) package elbow macaroni
Parmesan cheese, shredded
Brown the beef with the onions and garlic in a large pot over medium heat.
Add seasonings, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and water. Mix well. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add cooked macaroni and stir well.
Serve with generous toppings of Parmesan cheese. This meal tastes even better the next day.
